How do people with chronic depression manage to date?

This is a question I was asked recently, and it’s not hard to figure out that the person is depressed. So it left me curious too, how easy is it to find someone to date?
Also, when you do how do you keep the relationship a healthy one?
This is a challenge for many, so your input would be appreciated.

It's usually very difficult for those who are depressed to be in a relationship without having a fall out all the time. It's not easy to manage it. If you're not very patient with someone who's depressed, the relationship will not work.

It can never be easy for a depressed person to be in a relationship without having a fall out or even showing that they are depressed. Depressed persons need as much patience as possible.

It's not easy for those who have chronic depression to be in a relationship but it is not impossible.

Most I find and I myself when I was very depressed found that it took time to trust anyone to be in a relationship and I feel that is the important part, you need that time to be sure you can trust the person you are getting close to.

Trust issue is the cause of the fall out and there's no way the relationship can be fruitful until the victim heal from whatsoever it's the cause of the depression.

I wouldn't be too self to have chronic depression and pin it on someone all in the name of relationship. I will first take care of myself and make sure that I'm better before thing about being in a relationship because my chronic depression will impact on my relationship negatively.

That's why everybody needs to heal in whatever they see themselves. It's very hard to heal when you jumped into another relationship because it will always show in attitude and character.

Perhaps the best they can do for themselves is by trying to get help first. It really won’t work out well if they seek to enter relationship with their state of mind.

You know that we won't understand anything especially when we are in pains. I have been there and sincerely, I wanted to make same mistake again but from my own end, I know I will be hurting more that's how I decided to be get help first.

I agree. It's the first thing they should do. Yes, they deserve to be in a relationship but let them start with their families until they get better because being in a relationship in that state will make it very difficult for their partner.

Will it though? I suggest that finding a partner that actually understand them and is willing to help them get through it can make all the difference.

They person's immediate family members should be the first to fall on before looking for someone to be in love with. Will the person's health condition make it easy for the relationship to work?

You've got a point. But there are instances where the family members are not close to him at that particular time. A supportive partner will come in handy in such situations.

In cases such as this, a persons significant other is of more help than family. That is why it is so hard when there is heartbreak. Truth be told, it mostly requires a new healthy relationship to get over the past one.

It's very important to have a supportive partner. In such situations, the partner can stand for them until the family is there. I am always praying for a supportive all day.

People are actually different which is the reason why it is possible for those with chronic depression to find it possible to be in a relationship which also depends on the kind of partner that they have.
