How do you differentiate between gluttony and eating disorder?

There is an eating disorder that is known as bulimia where one eats too much. My question is could this also be called gluttony (naturally overeating) or there's a difference?
It will help me figure out if someone has an eating disorder or he is just a glutton.

Although they might seem to hear some resemblance, bulimia and gluttony are distinct concepts.

Bulimia is an eating disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of binge eating followed by purging behaviors, such as self-induced vomiting, excessive exercise, or misuse of laxatives.
Gluttony, on the other hand, is associated with excessive consumption of food and drink, often to the point of excess and waste. This is a serious offense in some religions and cultures.
