It's important to approach this conversation with empathy and understanding.
Express your concern and let them know you care. You can start by sharing how you've noticed their mood and behavior have changed.
You can also explain that therapy is a safe and confidential space to talk about their feelings.

What other ways can you encourage a depressed person to visit a therapist?

Sadly, it's impossible to advice someone who's depressed to go and see either a good psychiatrists, therapists or general physicians because they will never open up to you. Unless, it's a family member or a very close friend, it's when they will open up if they trust the person.

They will never trust the process. Depressed people acts out of their thinking and truly, I don't blame them. They felt that talking to a therapist is a way to look down or laugh at them but that's not true.

Well I feel that they will open up to a therapist more than just anyone. And the therapist knows just what to say to get them talking.

The work of a therapist is to get to know more about the things which made us frustrated. And the way therapists get people to talk is still a shock to me.

It might sound impossible but as a caring person, I would love to tell them and also the importance of meeting and talking to one. Anybody that's ready to survive can be open and listen to see a therapist.

My thought is that they will open to a therapist so easily than a family member. There's many options that they can be given to express themselves, being free also is another measure that they can open up.
