Depression as we all know is a serious issue, and it's important to be supportive to your partner. You can help by being there for them, listening to them, and encouraging them to seek professional help.

What others ways do you think can help?

Being patient with yourself and your partner is key to helping very well with a depressed partner. They need help and don't always know what they want. Being patient with them will increase their trust in you to make them open up better.

Patience is a very important quality to display I agree. If you are not patient as the spouse of someone that is depressed, you might not help them in an effective way.

You have to remove blame 100% when it comes to dealing with someone who's battling with depression even if they made a mistake. It's the only way to stop them from thinking about suicide.

Anyone who is depressed needs a lot of attention because they can't really be able to do most things on their own as a result of their state of being depressed. So, you have to show enough attention to that person, it helps a lot.

Show them more attention, love and care. They will love to hide their emotions so that no body will blame them for what they are passing through, give them the assurance that they are free to talk to you, that's how you gain their trust.

You need as much patience you can offer to them. There will be time that you will question yourself and same goes with the depressed partner too. If there's no patience, other true attitudes like love, attention and care won't have a great meaning for them.

There are situations that will come up that will definitely test your patience. As one that is looking after them it is important to be very patient if we really want to help them.

That's very true. It takes a strong person to take care of a depressed human. It's never easy at all, take time too as the patient person to take care of your mental wellbeing to avoid losing it on them.

That’s why the person has to be very patient, because if they also lose it then nothing can be accomplished.

It takes two to tango. The stronger person can be patient while the depressed person can also work towards becoming better so that none of them can lose it.

You made a good point here. Questioning oneself to know if you are doing the right thing shows up and if care is properly taken, one can withdraw, it will affect the depressed person so deep.

This is beautiful because not blaming them will show them that you are there to support them to get better. This is the reason even therapists find way to make anyone feeling depressed to feel like that they are not at fault at all.

Blaming them will give them the reason that they are hated and it brings about the pains that they have been hiding, thoughts on how to disappear from the earth in order to go away with the blame. They need more attention and care to avoid doing what they will regret.
