What if a spouse is depressed?

I have to always be there for my partner if she is depressed. It's not right to abandon her in her difficult situation because it's my duty to help her get better, become healthy mentally and emotionally.
This is such a good mentality. When I get married I will agree to the oath “in sickness and in health”. So I have to keep my promise and stay with her while helping her get better.

The only time I will not agree to the oath of "in Sickness and Health" with my partner whom I'm married to is when she knowingly decides to compromise our health when we already married. She's only going to suffer it alone because I wouldn't be there.

Of course for every generalization there is an exception. There is going to be some issue if you compromise your health as a result of questionable actions.

I took a vow to love my partner in sickness and in health. Duty hold me to take very good care of her even when she's depressed. I can't leave or abandon her in such state.

You are one of the few that really have the heart to keep up their vow. Your love for your spouse must have also contributed to your determination.
